The Breakfast Club

In my book, this movie is a classic. I saw this movie for the 17th time over thanksgiving break and decided to write about an older film. This movie came out in 1985 and was an instant hit for teens who understood the grief and stress that comes with teachers, homework, drama and just high school in general. It broke the boundries about cliques and stereotypes in high school. In this movie, you really get to know the person behond the label.
A brain, a beauty, a jock, a rebel and a recluse. All had detention together on saturday from 7am to 4pm. They bared their souls and became good friends. The movie is about the day in detention they shared together and bond between the five that will never be broken. watch trailer below!

Watch trailer for Megamind. click on link above!
A villain, Megamind (Will Ferrell) finally kills his nemesis, Metro Man (Brad Pitt) and finds that his life is now pointless. Megamind in now bored and searching for a purpose. When Titan (Jonah Hill) uses his powers to destroy the world, Megamind steps in and becomes the hero for once in his life. A great movie for kids and is actually hilarious. I took my two little sisters to see this over break and we were all cracking up laughing and quoting it after the movie. Very good! two thumbs way up!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

This film is part one of the seventh Harry Potter movie. It is dramatic, humorous and action packed. The movie show how Ron, Harry and Hermione all leave their families to begin an army to defeat Voldermort. Harry and Jenny share an on screen kiss and Ron's jealousy rages after Harry and Hermione bond while deciphering clues Dumbeldore left. Although the end to this film doesn't exactly favor with Harry and his friends. There is still and second part and the quest to defeat the dark lord continues. The second part to the movie will be released in July on 2011. Loyal Harry Potter fans around the world wait with baited breath as the series comes to a close on the big screen. I recommend it! Go see it with your family. watch the trailer below! Thoughts? comment as well!

Due Date

This hilarious action packed movie starring Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man 1&2, Sherlock Holmes) and Zach Galifianakis (Hangover, Dinner For Schmucks) was wildly entertaining and easy to quote with your friends. I do not recommend this film for kids only because a few scenes made me blush, so it lives up to its R rating. This film centers around Peter Highman, a rude business man trying to make it home in time to witness the birth of his child. Peter meets Ethan Tremblay at the airport and realizes quickly how obnoxious and annoying the acclaimed actor can be. Through a series of unfortunate events, Peter is kicked off the plane and put on the "no fly" list. He is offered a ride back home by Ethan and reluctantly accepts the offer. The rest of the movies follows the random and wild events that took place of their journey together.
I honestly thought the film would be less funny version of Hangover, but i was surprised that the plot took a completely different direction at the end. Zach Galifanakis's character is nothing less than outstanding and amusing. He easily made the film worth watching again. I have to admit, i was not a fan of Dinner For Schmucks (starring Steve Carell and Paul Rudd) but Zach Galifanakis redeemed himself with this movie and i am looking forward to seeing him with the gang in Hangover 2, which is currently being filmed! can't wait! thoughts or opinions? comment and watch the trailer below.

Paranormal Activity 2

If you are a fan of the first Paranormal Activity, I do not recommned seeing this film. I was very dissapointed to say the least. This movie was not even scary and moved way to slow. It honestly seemed more like a comedy than a real horror film. The jump scenes were highly predictable and the same characters in the first were not carried along to the second film so the plot was not consistant and this left the viewers confused. This film was more of a prequel to the very first Paranormal Activity but did not answer any further questions about the end of the first film. Leave comment if you understand it! DO NOT SEE.

The Social Network

The Social Network, released on October 1st tells the story of how the social networking site "Facebook" came to be. Who invited it? Was the idea stolen? The movie answers a lot of questions and happens to be highly contriversial. The story revolves around Mark Zuckerberg played by Jesse Eisenberg, who created facebook at harvard and his friend Eduardo Saverin financed the entire project. The movie follows the enitre string of events that lead to a huge scandal as to the real founders of facebook.
I recommend seeing this film if you have a facebook and happen to be a fan of the youngest billionaire alive, Mark Zuckerberg. The movie was well-written, the story was accurate and the actors were spot on with character portrails. The opening weekend it made $ 22,445,653 so it is widely popular.
Watch the trailer below! This dvd will be at the top of my christmas wish list.

The Last Exorcism

If you obsess over horror films like me, I definitely recommend The Last Exorcism. This is the most recent movie I've seen in theaters and i was pleasantly surprised. The title alone attracts the attention of the fans from all the previous "Exorcism" films before this one. So, the movie did not really need a famous cast to promote it. This movie was released August 27th 2010 and the reviews have been either really great or really bad reguarding this film. I happen to be a fan of the original Exorcism, so i thought i would check out the new demon possession movie. If you have a morbid curiosity and don't mind some disturbing images, this is a must see for you.
This movie was filmed like a documentary, which made it seem more real. The movie centers around a small town Reverend named Cotton Marcus. He preforms exorcisms on the sick but only does it for the money. So, essentially he is selling something that he doesn't even believe in. Rev. Marcus has a camera crew follow him around and watch him fake exorcisms. He justifies it by saying he is still helping lost souls because if someone believes they are possessed with a demon, they will only be healed when the demon is "cast out of them." and that is his job. Reverend Marcus is portrayed as the clever con artist who fakes the very act of religion.
But when Reverend Marcus discovers Nell, a girl clearly possessed by a demon, will cause him to rethink everything. Nell is his hardest case yet. The camera crew follows him on the journey to heal Nell, but  disprove exorcism in the process. Will it work? Will Marcus believe in exorcisms by the end of the film? The end to the movie blew my mind. If you like a good twist and an interesting plot to keep you entertained, watch The Last Exorcism. What do you think about Exorcisms? Real or fake? Thought please!
